Brazilian Accountant In Florida - How to open a company in the United States

Step 1 - Define your company name

The name must be unique, we advise having two or more name options. Because at the time of incorporation of the company the main name may be unavailable.

It is also important to remember that in Portuguese we use some accents, unlike English. For example, many customers choose to replicate a company name that already exists in Brazil because of the brand and it is not always possible, it is recommended to avoid accents or words that have different meanings for the American.

Step 2 - Choose the type of company

Step 5 - State Registration

File with the Florida Department of State or the state you choose to incorporate your business in to create a legal entity. To do so, you will need to provide the state with the name of the company, a business address and the name and address of the partners.

Step 6 - EIN/Tax ID (American CNPJ)

Obtain the EIN (Federal Employer Identification Number). Through the SS4 form you will obtain the IRS (Internal Revenue Service – Federal Government Revenue Department). This number will be used for tax filing and other business transactions.

On income tax returns, this will be your identification number. The EIN (or TAX ID) is your US business identification number.

Step 7 – Bank Account

After the above steps, you must register your business with your county's Tax Collector's Office to obtain the “Florida Business License”.
